Itinerary Desription
Day 1: Cusco - Amazon Pona Lodge.
We leave from Cusco at 5:30AM by our private van, first stopping to visit the pre Inca burial towers of Ninamarca. We then drive through the mountains to Tres Cruces, the highest point and entrance to Manu National Park. From here we will continue into the Cloud Forest and at fog forest we will explore for around 3 to 4 hours to observe the National bird of Peru, (the cock of the rock), the biggest monkey in Peru (woolly monkeys) and to observe different types of bromeliads and beautiful orchids, then we arrive to our lodge where we will sleep in our beautiful and rustic lodge.

Day 2: Amazon Pona Lodge – Harpy Lodge (Boat Ride, Night expedition)
After breakfast we will continue by our private van to the port of Atalaya. On the way we will visit the local plantations like coca plantation, bananas, pineapples. From Atalaya port we leave by motorized boat to our next Lodge, along the boat trip we can see a variety of wildlife, such as capybaras crossing the river, herons, kingfisher and always the presence of vultures of which the most spectacular is the condor of the jungle, the king of vultures (Sarcoramphus papa)
After the luch, We will explore all the afternoon the lowland jungle until evening, always using our rubber boots (included night expeditions) to see tarantulas, different types of spiders, poisonous frogs, tree frogs, snakes, alligators, night monkeys, armadillos and boas, and the night expedition will last until around dinner time.

Day 3: Harpy Lodge - Machuwasi Lake (Trails and Lagoon Exploration)
We will leave early to visit the parrots, parakeets and mini macaws clay lick, and after breakfast we will explore the jungle for several hours, this day we have chance to see many species of mokeys like, squirrel Monkeys, Capuchin Monkey, Titi Monkeys, Howler Monkeys, wild pigs and many other species, and also we will enjoy the amazing sounds of birds like Macaws, woodpeckers, Toucans, Parrots, harpy eagles.
After lunch, this day we have chance to visit Machuwasi Lake where we will take a balsa raft and see Capybara (the biggest rodent in the world) different varieties of wildlife such as the pre-historic Hoatzin bird, Cormorants, Herons and Horned screamer, (other night expedition which is optional) to see more nocturnal creatures,
We will spend the night in our rustic lodge at Harpy Eagle Lodge.

Day 4: Harpy Lodge - Cusco.
We will leave early to walk until breakfast time and after we will return to Atalaya port by boat, where our private bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. We return to Cusco via the cloud forest and Paucartambo. We will arrive back in Cusco in the late afternoon.

Important Note: The order of the activities mentioned in this program may change according to weather conditions. In the Jungle the climate is highly unpredictable, especially during rainy season, and weather conditions may affect the program as the animals as well are affected in their daily activities by the rain. Don’t hesitate to talk with your guide about it to maybe change the order of the activities or find alternative things to do in case of extremely bad weather! And remember, we have no responsibilities on climate and on the amount of animals that you will see: enjoy the jungle and good luck!
